Creation of Other Races

Monsters appeared in the mines of the dwarves. These were not the creation of deities or angels. They were the first manifestations of the magic that flowed through the world, the power that had been unleashed as the dwarves mined deep, and the same power that had given the angels the ability to kiss the dwarves to life. This power had been set free by the dwarves who became more and more militaristic because their greed kept them digging. They did not halt or falter as monsters tried to stop them. They learned to fight and defend themselves and they waged war against the subterranean creatures.

Time passed and none of the monsters gained enough power to create a civilisation as large and advanced as the dwarves. More time passed and creatures that were not bent on destruction and evil emerged on the surface of the world of Aspenta. Two new races appeared and along with the dwarves they later became known as the three Prime Goods. The first race to emerge was the elves. An immortal race imbued with magic. This race was made from the largest concentration of magic but was not the embodiment of magic but more a by-product of it. The halflings were the other race created. This was yet another long lived race, which focused on the joys of life rather than on their origins or on magic. Few of them ever became powerful spellcasters, which pleased the dwarves mightily.

More and more races of the worlds were created. Two new civilisations emerged. The elves created long lived, natural, and beautiful cities. These were mostly set within the forests on the surface. The halflings created happy environments filled with colour and song. They founded their villages on hills and in plains, anywhere where beautiful and colourful flowers grew.
